Hotel Cristall Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof

I had to spend a night in Frankfurt to catch an early morning train. The Hotel Cristall was showing the best rates in the area for the quality of reviews.
The hotel is literally 2 minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof and I found no issues with walking to the hotel from, station environments can be somewhat “challenging” and in this instance no problems encountered.

From the outside I have to say first impressions are not great BUT do not judge a book by its cover!
This hotel is not for you if you have lots of luggage or have mobility issues due to the need to climb and descend stairs, there is a lift but you need to use stairs to get to it. I had large baggage and found this somewhat awkward, though not enough to stop me staying again, even though I am very able bodied.
Check in was friendly and a very pleasant surprise was being offered a large bottle of water and a small bottle of wine – if only all hotels did this!
The hotel is compact, just 30 rooms, and my room, number 11, on the 1st floor shared the floor with 5 other rooms.

The room was nicely styled, compact and functional with decent wifi. The bathroom was small but usable.

I left early in the morning so did not sample breakfast.

Would I stay again, YES for an overnight stay.
