The journey is slower than using the direct Avanti service as a change of trains is needed at Crewe and the trains stop more often BUT if you have time or are on a budget these fares offer great value, especially as there is no Advance Purchase nor Train Specific Reservations required. The journey takes around 3hours 45 minutes. Tickets are valid for a month.
