PULLMAN HOTEL LONDON ST PANCRAS

My stay at the Pullman Hotel London St Pancras was on Monday 21st November 2016.
I booked the hotel for £137, room only on the Booking.com
Located between Euston and Kings Cross / St Pancras rail stations, about 5 minutes’ walk from each, the hotel is perfect for rail based trips.
First impressions on entering the hotel were very good with a lively atmosphere coming from the bar / restaurant and I was greeted by the doorman with a friendly hello. The 2 check in agents were serving customers and a host with an iPad came and asked me if she could help with any questions. She was very chatty and friendly and continued to chat for the extended wait until an agent was free, I do wonder if she could have checked me in though.
The check in agent was apologetic, genuinely, for keeping me waiting and again was chatty and friendly and explained a few things about the hotel as she was checking me in. I was offered a welcome drinks voucher.
My room was located on the 2nd floor and was a deluxe category. A corridor with the bathroom off it led into the bedroom, I do like this design as it minimises noise from the corridor. The soundproofing was good but as I was partly overlooking Euston Rd there was some noise from emergency services sirens – nothing too bad though.
The room has a large double bed and a sofa.
Tea and coffee and a kettle and bottled water together with a free minibar!
I went to the Golden Arrow bar / restaurant to have a glass of wine as my welcome drink and this is when the hotel stay was let down. The person taking my order treated me as if I were a second-class citizen for having the audacity to use my drinks voucher, she was not friendly and in fact did not speak! Every other person in the hotel I interacted with was friendly. People have off days so c’est la vie. The bar itself was quite lively and I would consider popping in for a drink (they had a great £10 cocktail list) and food, which looked good.
The Wi-Fi in the room and public areas worked well.
I did not take breakfast as I was heading for a train which included breakfast as part of the ticket.
A good value stay for £90, with the rack rate showing as £450 and online on the day for £169.
Would I stay here again? Yes, if travelling by train as it is so convenient.
