Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham
A quick trip to Birmingham to catch up with a friend for dinner saw me spending a night at the Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham.
I stayed on 20th December 2016 and booked the hotel through the Hilton App on my phone and paid £67.72 for the night including breakfast.
The Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham is located in the Brindleyplace development on the west side of the city centre around a mile from Birmingham New St Station and takes 15 / 20 minute to walk to the hotel.
Check in was friendly and the young lady on reception gave me information about the hotel and a welcome drinks voucher, the voucher was offered as I am a member of the Hilton Loyalty Scheme – hhonors.
There are 3 lifts to access the bedroom floors, I was located on the second floor. The style of the Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham was familiar and I then remembered it used to be a MINT Hotel, a small chain that Hilton acquired.
There was a small hallway to the bedroom with the bathroom off of it. A king size bed, a desk cum dressing table, fridge (empty), safe, bathrobe and slippers were provided in the room together with 2 bottles of mineral water. The room was comfortable and more than adequate for an overnight stay. The bathroom was compact and only had a shower. The Hilton standard toiletries, Peter Thomas Roth, were provided. The room was quiet and I slept well.
I met a friend and we had a drink in the hotel bar, which was a little soulless, then headed out for dinner.
Breakfast was quite good and included cooked to order eggs. The breakfast staff were all very friendly and it was a relaxing way to start the day.
Checkout was efficient, with a copy invoice slipped under the room door overnight.
Would I stay here again? Yes but only if they had a special offer as the hotel is not as central as other ones and is quite a walk from New Street Station.
