Booking Ukrainian Train Tickets
This post gives a simple guide on booking Ukrainian train tickets online.
The majority of Ukrainian long distance trains are bookable online and issued as an e-ticket. A number of trains though do not allow e-ticketing, you can book online but you have to pick up the physical ticket from a Ukrainian Railways ticket office, just present the booking confirmation.
There are different categories of Ukrainian Trains and different classes of travel. Daytime InterCity trains offer fast links between major cities and have First and Second Class. Travelling overnight trains generally offer 3 class of accommodation; First Class which is a 2 berth sleeper, Second Class which is a 4 berth sleeper and Third Class which is open plan.
Tickets for trains from Russia to Ukraine operated by Ukrainian Railways cannot be booked online UNLESS you are able to collect the ticket in Ukraine!
