Eurostar Expands Train Service to the Netherlands
Eurostar is expanding its service to the Netherlands with the launch of a fifth daily train from London to Amsterdam.
Dutch expansion
Eurostar has announced the launch of a fifth daily direct train connecting London with Rotterdam and Amsterdam, bringing the number of available passenger seats between the British capital and the Netherlands to a record high.
The fifth daily service is scheduled to launch from London to Amsterdam on 15 December 2025, with departures in the reverse direction beginning on 16 December.
According to Eurostar, the new service will offer travellers “more options during the peak end-of-year period”.
Tickets for the fifth daily departure will go on sale from 10 July 2025.

Eurostar terminal
The introduction of the fifth daily train from London to the Netherlands has been made possible by the new Eurostar terminal at Amsterdam Central Station, which has significantly increased capacity.
The new terminal features a café serving barista coffee and pastries, free cold water for all passengers, and ultrafast Wi-Fi.
Lille trains
Passengers can now also travel on direct Eurostar trains from Lille to Rotterdam and Amsterdam, as Eurostar has opened bookings on its London–Amsterdam services for travel between Lille and the Netherlands.
Seats are available in both Eurostar Standard and Eurostar Plus, although bookings for direct Lille–Amsterdam journeys are currently limited to a 30-day booking horizon.
On the return leg, however, direct travel from the Netherlands to Lille on Eurostar is not possible.
As these trains continue to London, they can only carry passengers who have cleared UK border checks and are therefore not intended for travel within the Schengen zone alone.
Passengers travelling from Amsterdam or Rotterdam to Lille must therefore travel with Eurostar from Amsterdam or Rotterdam to Brussels, where they connect to a TGV service for the final stretch to Lille.

Conclusion
In December 2025, Eurostar will launch a fifth daily service between London, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam, which is welcome news to British and Dutch rail travellers alike.
Eurostar will also open bookings on its trains for passengers wishing to travel directly from Lille to Amsterdam, although this will only be possible when travelling to the Netherlands, as travellers in the reverse direction will still need to change trains in Brussels.
