RADISSON BLU SZCZECIN
Located in the centre of Szczecin the 4 star Radisson Blu is a good place to explore the city from. I travelled by train and it is a good 25/30 minute walk from the railway station, the IBIS and Novotel are better located for train based visitors. A taxi can be arranged to meet you at the station for 14 Zloty or take the tram for 2 Zloty. My reason for choosing the Radisson was the fact it had availability through the Club Carlson loyalty programme at 15,000 points a night for a 2 night stay.
Just one person on check-in and one person in front of me so had to wait for a few minutes – no problem. The young lady who checked me in was efficient and I got upgraded to a Business Class Room, a perk of being a member of Club Carlson.
My room was located on the 7th floor with views over the city, it had an adjoining room which I do not like and straightaway heard some noise so did consider switching rooms but I was so tired I let it go and in fact there was no further noise.
The room was a corner one so had lots of natural light. 4 small bottles of water and a couple of pieces of fruit as a welcome amenity. A kettle was available with tea and instant coffee as well a nespresso machine plus a well-stocked mini-bar.
The air conditioning in the room was very effective with outside temperatures around 30 degrees and the room bathed in sunlight.
There was a desk but no electrical outlets at the desk. Wifi worked well throughout the hotel.
The bed was comfortable and the room well-lit at night. There were no electrical outlets by the bed.
The bathroom was functional and “this works” amenities provided, which I do like!
I wanted to use the swimming pool but unfortunately there was an aqua aerobics class in progress and the pool was not free for the next hour. The pool, gym and spa area were clean and well maintained.
Breakfast is served from 06.30 every day with a good selection on offer including eggs cooked to order.
The hotel has two restaurants and bar with an outside terrace – I did not use them.
A decent functional hotel in the centre of town with a good breakfast set up. I would stay there again.
