Taking the Train From the Airport to Bari Centrale
Bari Airport has a convenient train connection to Bari Centrale, the city’s main railway station, from where you can also connect to other destinations.
This short guide shows you how you can take the Bari Airport train and how to book tickets.
Bari Airport Train
Bari Airport has a railway station connected to the terminal via an underground walkway, making it an easy walk from your plane to the train once you arrive in Italy.
From the airport’s railway station, there is a train about once every half hour to Bari Centrale, with the ride taking approximately 20 minutes.
This airport train is a standard regional train, so simply hop on board, find an available seat, put your bag in the overhead racks or in the dedicated luggage racks, and enjoy the ride.

How to book the Bari Airport Train
The Bari Airport train is not operated by Trenitalia, Italy’s national railway company, but by Ferrotramviaria, a private railway company from the region of Puglia.
You can buy tickets on the Ferrotramviaria website or by using the ticket machines at the railway station.
Bari Airport is listed as Aeroporto K.W. on the Ferrotramviaria website, referring to its full name, Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport, named after the former pope.
A one-way ticket from the airport to Bari Centrale currently costs €5.30.
Onward connections
The airport train arrives at a separate section of Bari Centrale, used exclusively by Ferrotramviaria trains.
The Ferrotramviaria platforms at Bari Centrale are located inside a building on the west side of Piazza Aldo Moro, the palm-lined square in front of the station.
On the same side of the square, you will also find the entrance to the Ferrovie Appulo Lucane (FAL) platforms, which run trains from Bari Centrale to Matera and Potenza, among others.
However, the main Bari Centrale station, from which national operator Trenitalia and Ferrovie del Sud Est (FSE) trains depart, is on the southern side of the square.
These companies operate most of the train services from Bari Centrale, connecting the city to destinations across Puglia and beyond.
If you are connecting between trains operated by different railway companies, make sure to allow enough time for your transfer, as you will not be protected if a delay causes you to miss your connection.

You can book both Trenitalia and Ferrovie del Sud Est (FSE) train tickets in advance through the reliable booking website Omio.
