Frecciarossa Executive Class
Frecciarossa is the name given to the most premium high-speed train services operated by the Italian national railway company, Trenitalia.
These modern high-speed trains offer seats in Standard Class (similar to second class), Premium (a premium second class), and Business Class (comparable to first class on most other trains).
On some of Trenitalia’s Frecciarossa high-speed train routes, there is also a premium first class option: Executive Class.
You can find Executive Class on routes operated by Frecciarossa 500 and Frecciarossa 1000 high-speed trains.
Among others, it is available on routes such as the main Naples–Rome–Florence–Bologna–Milan high-speed rail axis, as well as on Trenitalia’s Paris–Turin–Milan international train route.

What to expect in Executive Class
Executive Class has just 8 seats (on Frecciarossa 500 trains) or 10 seats (on Frecciarossa 1000 trains), located at one end of the train.
All seats are highly comfortable leather solo seats that can recline and can be rotated to face the direction of travel.
If there are two of you travelling together, you can also ensure you have two seats opposite each other rather than sitting back-to-back, simply by rotating them.
Of course, there are power sockets at each seat, and Frecciarossa trains have Wi-Fi internet.
There is a dedicated steward who looks after all passengers in Executive Class.
You will receive a food and drinks menu from which you can order anything you like free of charge at any time during the journey.
This includes both soft and alcoholic drinks, including some good quality Italian wines and Prosecco, as well as a wide range of snacks and even proper meals, such as salads, pasta, or small fish or meat dishes.

Is Executive Class on the Frecciarossa worth it?
Whether Executive Class on Frecciarossa high-speed trains is worth the premium over a Business Class seat is something only you can decide.
The price of an Executive Class ticket is generally comparable to that of a business class airline ticket and is usually aimed at business travellers travelling on company expenses.
Right next to the Executive Class area on the train, you can find a small meeting room that can be used for business meetings, which already shows that this class is primarily created to meet the needs of business travellers.
However, Executive Class also has some appeal for well-to-do leisure travellers.
That said, for many people, Business Class on Frecciarossa trains – which also features comfortable leather seats (albeit in a 2+1 configuration instead of the 1+1 layout in Executive Class) and gets you a complimentary drink and snack – is already more than sufficient.
