European Sleeper Launches Brussels-Milan Night Train
European Sleeper will soon launch its much-anticipated Brussels to Milan night train, with ticket sales due to begin in two weeks.
About the new Brussels to Milan night train
The Brussels to Milan night train operated by European Sleeper will begin running on 9 September 2026, the start-up railway company has just announced, with bookings opening in two weeks’ time.
Initially, the company planned to launch operations on the route on 18 June, but it was forced to postpone the start date due to extensive track works in Germany, which would have made reliable operations difficult.
The new night train route will link Belgium with Italy via Germany and Switzerland, thereby also providing a convenient rail connection for travellers to and from those countries.
Needless to say, this new night train route operated by European Sleeper is also an excellent option for British travellers heading to Italy, as it offers an easy connection to and from the Eurostar service to London at Brussels South.
Once bookings open, you can easily buy your ticket for the new Brussels-Milan night train online on the European Sleeper website.

The route to Italy
The exact route of the European Sleeper night train from Brussels to Milan will be of particular interest to keen rail travellers, as it will operate over the highly scenic Gotthard line through the Swiss Alps.
Initially, the train was supposed to run via the Simplon Railway, but ongoing engineering works there make this plan unfeasible until at least 2027, which is why the new night train will use the Gotthard route for the time being.
On its journey from Brussels to Milan, the night train will also call at major stations such as Liège, Aachen and Cologne during the evening, while in the morning it will stop at Zurich, Bellinzona, Lugano and Como before arriving at Milano Porta Garibaldi railway station.
